I work the road a few counties north of Pinn. and have been on the road for almost 6 years, with four years in the Marines before that. I am thinking of moving and applying with your agency. I would like a real view point from some real deputies about the agency. Does any one know if you guys have a "pay step" for experience? If so what is it?
Have you guys always worked 8 hr. shifts? I did when I started and hated it, 12's are a lot better. Do you have a union? And could you tell me what your report taking process is (type it or call in)

Thanks

Everyone keep your heads up, sometimes the job/people suck but some ones got to do it!

yes there is pay for experience, goes by years of experience and equivalent deputy pay

8 hr shifts on the road and 12 in the jail in north i believe. there was talk about changing the hours, and a vote some years back, but it looks like its gonna be 8's

FOP negotiates for us, but you can join PBA if you want.

you can type or call your reports in.

be safe.
