Just curious how the state's retirement works. Will they match any contributions you make to a 401k?

# ARE THERE ANY METHODS TO SUPPLEMENT THE STARTING SALARY?
Yes. Hire back Programs and Criminal Justice Incentive Pay may supplement your income.

# WILL HAVING OR OBTAINING AN ASSOCIATE OR BACHELOR DEGREE HELP ME?
Yes! Certified Law Enforcement Officers who have an Associate's Degree earn an additional $30 per month. Those who hold a Bachelor's Degree earn an additional $80 per month. The incentive monies are paid during your entire law enforcement career.

# WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR BENEFITS?
We offer paid vacations plus sick and military leave. All uniforms, weapons, equipment and a take home patrol car are furnished. We provide an annual dry cleaning allowance. We also offer extensive insurance programs.

# WHAT TYPE OF RETIREMENT SYSTEM DOES FHP HAVE?
We offer a non-contributory retirement system and each member is vested after six years. Full retirement benefits are awarded after 25 years of service and the benefits are based on three percent per year. We also have a Deferred Compensation Plan and a Deferred Retirement Option plan (DROP) for building your retirement savings.
